Commercialization
You can publish or otherwise communicate your invention after it has been filed as a patent application. The patent protection will then no longer be jeopardised by such disclosure.
The Patent Managers of MBM ScienceBridge GmbH will prepare the materials for the marketing of your invention in agreement with you. Such materials usually consist of a brief version containing non-confidential information and a more detailed description which will only be used after the conclusion of non-disclosure agreements.
MBM ScienceBridge GmbH will use these materials and possibly your suggestions for a worldwide search for companies for which your invention might be of interest due to the known product portfolio or the published focus of developments. As soon as the right contact persons are found, we will contact these companies with a brief version of the project. Trade fairs and partnering events (for example, BIO, Medica, Laser Optics) are other platforms used to address suitable companies.
When an interest is expressed, a non-disclosure agreement between your higher education institution and the company will be obtained by MBM ScienceBridge GmbH so that a more detailed evaluation process can be carried out afterwards.
If the company comes to a positive conclusion during its assessment, the next step is usually the negotiation of a licence agreement. MBM ScienceBridge GmbH will then act as an intermediary between the company and the higher education institution or research facility. These negotiations can often take several months.
